Plate armor has high Physical Defense, but no Magical Defense base values. The bonus is gained when 4/7 of your equipment is one type and upgraded to a strong buff at 7/7. Each armor type offers a bonuses for wearing that armor type. There are three types of armor and seven equipment slots. Any class can wear any type of armor, unlike most MMO games where a priest can wear only cloth and a tank only plate armor.
